Joel M. McDermott
Joel McDermott was born and raised in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. He earned a B.A. in Philosophy at Lycoming College before attending Washington and Lee University School of Law, a top-20 law school located in Lexington, Virginia. Upon graduation, Joel returned to his hometown and worked for attorney and bankruptcy trustee Charles A. Szybist, Esquire. He then worked at the Public Defender’s Office of Lycoming County defending the criminally accused and parents involved in Children & Youth matters. In early 2007 Joel obtained a position concentrating on civil matters at Rieders, Travis, Humphrey, Harris, Waters, and Waffenschmidt.
Joel McDermott is a member of the Lycoming County Bar Association and the Pennsylvania Bar Association, and is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania State Courts as well as the Middle District of the Federal Courts.
